Caregivers Matter Workshop

“Self-care is not selfish. Caregivers matter too”. - Dr. Latasha

ABOUT

The Caregivers Matter Workshop is a two-hour, interactive, virtual event that places the needs of the caregivers at the forefront of the discussion. Caregivers are an essential part of the healthcare team and are often overlooked. Their critical role in the implementation of the care plan in the absence of a provider should never be underestimated.

The workshop will equip, empower and encourage caregivers to protect themselves physically and mentally through injury prevention strategies and open discussions. The workshop aims to take the burden out of caregiving. Open discussions will also encourage caregivers to support one another while caring for individuals with dementia, neurologic conditions, brain injuries and other serious illnesses.

Attendees will:

  • Connect with other caregivers for additional support

  • Identify the benefits of physical therapy services

  • Learn injury prevention strategies to assist with mobility without sacrificing personal health

  • Understand the importance of self-care even while actively caregiving
